WWE Hell In A Cell 2014 Predictions by WWE.Com staffs: John Cena VsRandy Orton

The most brutal night on the WWE calendar is almost here. The eyes of the WWE Universe are sure to be locked on Dallas as the ominous Hell in a Cell touches ground at the American Airlines Arena.
Fans are itching to see John Cena battle Randy Orton and Dean Ambrose finally get his hands on Seth Rollins inside the Cell, but there’s plenty more to be excited about at Hell in a Cell 2014. Stroll through and check out WWE.com’s predictions for the action-packed card.

How John Cena is going Hollywood to attract new fans to WWE

Nothing intimidated John Cena, who regularly faces 300-pound men in the wrestling ring — until he had to audition for Judd Apatow and Amy Schumer.
No slouch himself, packing 250 pounds onto a muscular 6-foot-one-inch frame, Cena was eager to make the leap from action movies to comedy. “These are the people who make funny,” says Cena. “I was more nervous of that than anything I’ve ever done.”
At a time when Dwayne Johnson and Dave Bautista have successfully transitioned from WWE to the bigscreen with franchises like “Fast & Furious,” “G.I. Joe” and “Guardians of the Galaxy,” Hollywood is now calling on Cena to make the leap.

WWE's John Cena to Develop TV shows with 'Pawn Stars' Producer Leftfield Pictures:

After spending the past 12 years on television as one of WWE’s top stars, John Cena plans to start producing his own shows.

Cena has tag teamed with “Pawn Stars ”- producer Leftfield pictures to develop unscripted series that revolve mostly around unknown individuals from all walks of life with compelling stories to tell.

“For someone like me that’s surrounded by so many interesting characters, you know when you brush up against someone who can hold a room,” Cena toldVariety. “There are so many people out there who can hold someone’s attention.”

While Cena is a fan of many scripted series on TV, “there’s a lot more opportunity in reality,” he said, and chances “to package lives the way they already are.”

As part of the development deal, Cena and Leftfield already have several ideas in the works, but aren’t ready to reveal the concepts just yet. Projects could potentially include Cena on screen somehow, but is not required to get a series off the ground.

“We have a few already in the pipeline, a few irons in the fire,” said Cena who is WWE’s biggest star and moneymaker as a regular on the company’s weekly shows like “Monday Night Raw” and “Friday Night SmackDown” and its monthly pay-per-views. Shows he creates with Leftfield would be produced independently outside of Cena’s contract with WWE, although there is an option for the company to participate in projects should it spark creatively to any of the concepts.

New York-based Leftfield certainly understands how to introduce quirky characters to the small screen. Its biggest hit, “Pawn Stars,” has become a franchise, with spinoffs in the U.K. and Australia, as well as “Cajun Pawn Stars.”It also produces and the car shows “Counting Cars,” “Carfellas” and “American Restoration,” which surely sparked Cena’s interest since he’s a serious car fan and collector. Company’s credits also include “Hillbillies for Hire,” “Truck Stop U.S.A.” and “Guntucky.”

“John Cena has broad appeal across so many different audiences and demographics; it makes total sense that his celebrity has exploded,” said Leftfield Entertainment CEO Brent Montgomery. “Leftfield has always been an entrepreneurial outfit, and we love collaborating with other aggressive entrepreneurs looking for creative ways to reach new markets and tell compelling, unconventional stories. We are really excited to be in business with Cena.”

Leftfield expanded last year through the acquisition of Sirens Media (“Real Housewives of New Jersey”), adding the shingle to its overall Leftfield Entertainment company portfolio, which also includes Loud TV (“Tiny House Nation”). It also formed production company Outpost Entertainment with Jodi Flynn (“Hoarders,” “Three Sheets”).

Cena isn’t the only WWE star that’s turned to TV on his own to expand his presence in front of and behind the camera.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson began producing TV shows in 2012, starting with reality competition show “The Hero,” co-produced with Ben Silverman’s Electus Entertainment.

Cena is repped by ICM.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — As it turns out, going through “Hell” has its rewards. Like, for instance, a shot at getting to heaven, at least in the metaphorical sense. Thanks to Triple H, either John Cena or Randy Orton will have the chance to ascend once again to supreme glory. The King of Kings declared  that whomever survives their trip inside the 20-foot tall,5-ton Hell In A Cell will go one-on-one with The Conqueror himself, Brock Lesnar, with the championship on the line. Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.

Paul Heyman interrupted John Cena and Randy Orton

John Cena and Randy Orton’s rivalry has long been a tale of two Superstars, but with a match for the WWE World Heavyweight Title at stake, their ongoing battle has now pulled a third player into its orbit: the WWE World Heavyweight Champion himself, Brock Lesnar. So it was no surprise that Lesnar’s advocate, Paul Heyman, resurfaced in the midst of Cena and Orton’s latest war of words to deliver a warning of his own. It was actually more of a promise that whomever emerged from Hell in a Cell as the No. 1 contender would become little more than fresh meat for The Conqueror when their title match did go down. Only, Orton wasn't having any of Heyman's bravado, to say nothing of Cena’s. No sooner had Cena threatened Heyman with an Attitude Adjustment than The Viper pounced out of nowhere and RKO’d both men into unconsciousness.

Randy Orton, Kane and Seth Rollins defeated Dean Ambrose and John Cena

After weeks of outright losses, disqualifications that turned the tide against them and left-field humiliation, The Authority was due for a dominant win. Well, they got one just in time: Randy Orton, Kane & Seth Rollins’ Street Fight–rules win over John Cena & Dean Ambrose ensured that Triple H’s foot soldiers will march into Hell in a Cell with some much-needed momentum. Perhaps more importantly, the win casts doubt for the first time in weeks on Cena and Ambrose’s ability to prevail in their fourth and first, respectively, trips inside the place where rivalries are resolved forever.

Despite Kane’s designation as The Authority’s “general” per Triple H, Mr. Money in the Bank took charge in a gang-up on The Lunatic Fringe and handily neutralized Cena as well. He rammed the “face that runs the place,” as Cena called himself earlier in the night, straight through a chair before Kane tagged in and commanded the Hell in a Cell structure be lowered. The brawl ignited anew once the steel hit the ground, but it was Orton who struck the final blow with an RKO to Ambrose for the win … only to suffer a Curb Stomp from outta nowhere courtesy of Rollins, who clearly doesn't see Orton as the future, regardless of whether he gets a match with Brock Lesnar. Hey, anything goes in “Hell.”

WWE Hell In A Cell- John Cena Vs Randy Orton (Hell In A Cell Match)

John Cena vs. Randy Orton in a Hell in a Cell Match

The bitter and historic rivalry between 15-time World Champion John Cena and 12-time World Champion Randy Orton will add yet another chapter on Oct. 26 when the Superstars enter the unforgiving Hell in a Cell to do battle.

The match was brought into play after Dean Ambrose bested the Cenation leader in a No Holds Barred, Contract-on-a-Pole Match on the Oct. 13 edition of Raw. Per The Authority, the Superstar who did not win that contest would still have to compete in a Hell in a Cell Match against the ever-vicious Viper, who petitioned for the stipulation in an attempt to remind all why he considers himself The Face of WWE.

The Authority confronted Dean Ambrose and John Cena

ATLANTA – If Hell is other people, then John Cena and Dean Ambrose don’t even have to wait two weeks before one of them goes there: The Lunatic Fringe and the 15-time World Champion’s destinies are so intertwined at this point they’re practically both in Mephistopheles’ clutches already. Their predicament didn’t get any better on Raw, either: Despite dropping each other across the previous week, tensions between the two Superstars were at an all-time high as their battle for the right to face Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell approaches. The Authority decided to have some fun with that, forcing Cena & Ambrose to team up against The Usos and Gold & Stardust in a Triple Threat Tag Team Match. Somewhere, Teddy Long is smiling.

John Cena & Dean Ambrose def. WWE Tag Team Champions Gold & Stardust & The Usos

Perhaps the enemy of John Cena’s enemy truly is his friend. Forced to team under duress with Dean Ambrose yet again, the Cenation leader and The Lunatic Fringe marshaled their uneasy alliance to a victory over the current and former WWE Tag Team Champions, proving they may have been formidable titleholders themselves in some alternate WWE Universe.

Thanks to a timely tag from Stardust, however, Cena & Ambrose found themselves out of the fight while the four brothers had it out. Ambrose created an outside-the-ring brawl that forced one of the Usos to tag in Cena, who summarily cleaned house, though not without a bit of top-rope one-upsmanship from Ambrose. The twosome dispatched of Gold & Stardust simultaneously, with Cena scoring the decisive pin … and then, having seen what they can do as allies, The Authority sped up their trip to the inferno, moving Cena and Ambrose’s No Holds Barred Contract on a Pole Match to later that very same evening.

Dean Ambrose def. John Cena in a No Holds Barred Contract on a Pole Match to earn the right to face Seth Rollins inside Hell in a Cell

Well, well, well, Dean Ambrose is going to Hell. Or maybe it’s Seth Rollins who is headed straight to the pit, since Mr. Money in the Bank’s former brother-in-arms prevailed over John Cena to capture a contract guaranteeing him a spot in the Cell against Rollins to settle their rivalry once and for all (Cena, by the way, isn’t exactly getting off easy: He may not have Rollins but that just means the 15-time World Champion will face Randy Orton in the steel structure instead).

For a while, it seemed like Ambrose was more interested in punishing Cena than claiming his prize; The Lunatic Fringe battled his opponent up the ramp and absorbed as much damage as he inflicted. Cena claimed the advantage by using Ambrose himself as a fastball special against The Authority, who had gathered at ringside, but the former U.S. Champion proved himself to be much less unstable than his T-shirt would have you believe: While Cena preoccupied himself with his corporate foes, Ambrose clambered up the turnbuckle and snatched the contract for his own. Next stop? Hell itself.

EXCLUSIVE: John Cena's Greatest Rivalries DVD Review

John Cena isn't exactly a rarely touched on subject by WWE, and particularly on home video. The 2003 release "Word Life" gave fans a look at how the blue chip superstar transformed from a fresh young babyface into the "Doctor of Thuganomics." 2007's "My Life" served as a full-on documentary for the star, who had become the biggest name in the WWE by that time.

The coverage didn't stop there however, as 2010's "John Cena Experience" took a look at Cena's insane schedule and routine, and two years ago saw a special release regarding Cena's highly publicized feud with blockbuster movie star, The Rock .

What more could be covered? With the WWE so thoroughly chronicling John Cena's career it would appear on the surface that there isn't much left to be desired. Yet with well over 12 years under his belt, the man had enough classic, iconic feuds to fuel another release. One look at the liner notes shows that it's warranted.

- To open things up, Cena's early battles with Eddie Guerrero and Batista are shown, including a match Cena had in OVW as "Prototype" taking on Batista, then known as "Leviathan." There's also a cool transition before each feud is touched on that replicates a video game character select screen.

Cena is very complimentary of Guerrero and Eddie's influence on his career. Guerrero's inclusion is a nice surprise, because it isn't one of Cena's high profile feuds. The matches included are a U.S. Title tournament match, and their classic " Latino Heat Parking Lot Brawl" on Smackdown, that was later featured on the WWE video games.

The OVW Title match between Prototype and Leviathan was also included, with each respective gimmick being shown on the aforementioned "video game character select screen." Cena put over the huge OVW class that featured himself, Shelton Benjamin, Randy Orton and Batista. The two are obviously green in the match, but the promise in both is also evident.

After not being involved with each other for several years, the two met again in a Last Man Standing match at Extreme Rules 2010 (WWE incorrectly has it listed as April 2005 in the set). Cena mentions how the two were much more seasoned and had a much different dynamic. This would be Batista's final feud before leaving the WWE for four years.

- Many didn't expect Shawn Michaels and John Cena to have a series of classic matches despite HBK's ability and the cohesion is on full display in this set. The two were thrown together due to an injury to Triple H, and ended up having one of the best matches in Raw history in April 2007, which is featured in this set. Cena put over Michaels huge as a teacher to him this set, which also has their April 2008 Raw match as well.

- Perhaps Cena's longest-standing rival is Randy Orton. Cena goes through the typical motions of them bringing out the best in each other and being competitive. It's interesting to see the stark contrast in interest between their Summerslam 2007 meeting and the February 2014 Raw match, which are the two matches shown. Seven years ago this was a highly anticipated feud with a hot crowd. Years later it still gets a good reaction, but nowhere close to the original.

Cena says JBL coached him in the early stages of his career, as he's said about several of his opponents. He talks about how hard they went in the ring, and how important his first main event feud was. The selection of matches between the two is interesting, as WrestleMania 22 was an obvious choice, but a forgotten about Raw encounter between the two from June 2008 as well. Cena said that by the time he got to JBL he'd already had matches with Brock Lesnar and the Undertaker, so he was used to the physicality.

As the production powers on, you realize how many classic matches John Cena has had, a far cry from people chanting "you can't wrestle" in unison at him for years prior.

- Chris Jericho and John Cena aren't remembered for a particularly memorable rivalry, but the two have had their fair share of classic moments. Jericho was Cena's first PPV opponent (not included in the set), and Cena dealt Jericho a loss that ended his WWE career for two years, which is shown. An underrated, excellent match between the two for the World Heavyweight Championship from Survivor Series 2008 is a highlight on this collection.

- John Cena's greatest rivalry was likely against Edge. The two had a giant series of battles that truly brought out the best in both guys and started a real turning point in Cena's career in which helped him put on consistently good matches. This feud was probably more important to Edge than Cena, but ended up being a definitive one for both.

The second disc kicks off with the Edge matches, the first of which is a cage match from October 2006. The second, a Last Man Standing match from Backlash 2009, shows how comfortable the two had become with each other, truly becoming the Frazier to the other's Ali. It was a bit surprising that their TLC match wasn't on the blu-ray, but it's on no less than three other releases and the WWE Network, so it's not hard to find.

- Cena's battles with WWE juggernaut Triple H from WrestleMania 22 and Raw in October 2009 really show John Cena's progression as a competitor. Triple H is billed as a technical master and while John Cena clearly isn't, he never falls behind Triple H in their matches which is a testament to his work ethic and transcends the screen.

The main release closes out with John Cena's iconic feud with The Rock. As mentioned earlier, there was a full release about the first match. Wisely WWE didn't include the first match, possibly in light of this and instead put their Q&A from 2013 in its place. The second match is included however. There isn't much said here that you can't hear said in pre-match promos or the match itself on the WWE Network.

- Buried (no pun intended) on the blu-ray exclusives are chapters about Cena's rivalry with CM Punk. If Edge was Cena's best feud, than Punk could have very well been his best opponent. The two had outstanding, even legendary matches and had an unmatched chemistry in the ring. Their amazing February 2013 Raw match is on the set, which saw the return of the piledriver to WWE programming. In addition to that, a November 2008 Raw encounter is also on there.

- It would have been nice to see some more tag-team related topics included on this set, notably his fantastic six-man tag team matches with The Shield from last year. While he was never a major cog in the machine that built The Shield, the group had a bitter rivalry with pretty much the entire roster. A few more blu-ray extras could have really set the second disc off as well. With so many interviews in the can, it seems like WWE could have had these opponents shown talking about their experiences with Cena.

This production houses some of the most classic matches over the past decade for WWE, and will give you a renewed appreciation of Cena's work. This isn't a documentary feature, so your perception of it will directly reflect that of your perception of Cena as an in-ring worker as it's a collection of matches. If you have the WWE Network you have many of these matches, but WWE did a good job of mixing in more obscure Raw and Smackdown matches as well.

Cena gave Ambrose an Attitude Adjustment on "MizTv"

A special SmackDown 15th Anniversary edition of “MizTV” didn’t disappoint as The Miz kicked off his talk show by announcing that John Cena and Dean Ambrose’s contest at Hell in a Cell will be a Contract on a Pole Match!

Despite The Awesome One’s attempts to instigate a fight between the Cenation leader and The Lunatic Fringe, both quarreling Superstars worked together to dispose of the self-proclaimed Hollywood movie star. After the unstable Ambrose hit a double-arm DDT on the egotistical host, the 15-time World Champion put an exclamation point on SmackDown’s 15th Anniversary Celebration with an Attitude Adjustment on an unsuspecting Ambrose.

Seth Rollins addressed his embarrassment the previous week

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — He may have gotten the gunk out of his hair, but Seth Rollins couldn’t remove the egg from his face after his epic humiliation at the hands of Dean Ambrose and an air cannon loaded with Gak last week on Raw. The Lunatic Fringe’s desecration of both the Money in the Bank briefcase and Mr. Money in the Bank himself set Rollins into an epic tizzy at Raw’s beginning, leading him to more or less dare Cena and Ambrose to come and get him.

So, of course, they did; Cena from the stage and Ambrose from the crowd when Rollins tried to flee through the WWE Universe. But the combined might of Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury helped dissuade the two-on-one ambush long enough to provide Mr. Money in the Bank some safe harbor at the last minute. The timely appearance of The Authority also gave Rollins some extra protection for Raw’s main event, which would reform the uneasy Cena-Ambrose alliance against all three members of the corporate stable, Rollins, Kane & Randy Orton.

Dean Ambrose ditched John Cena

Who among us hasn’t wanted to drop what we’re doing and go to Coney Island? Granted, we’re not all Dean Ambrose, and the task we’re abandoning doesn’t involve the main event of Raw. But still, The Lunatic Fringe’s march into folk-hero status likely got its biggest boost when he left John Cena high and dry — as payment for the Cenation leader’s  abandonment of him on Smackdown— in favor of seeking out a ticket on the world-famous Cyclone. As for Cena, he was left on a different kind of island as he suddenly faced a three-on-one battle against The Authority in Raw’s main event. Hopefully his Never-Give-Up philosophy will be enough to keep him in one piece.

John Cena defeated Randy Orton, Kane and Seth Rollins via Disqualification

John Cena loves him some odds to overcome, and the Cenation leader found himself in quite the conundrum when his scheduled partner Dean Ambrose left him to the mercy of The Authority in a 3-on-1 match that devolved quickly into an unmitigated beating. Triple H had conceded that Seth Rollins would start the match, but The Aerialist quickly tagged out and Kane & Randy Orton set to work tenderizing the 15-time World Champion.

By the time Rollins did tag in, Cena was all but served on a platter and a three-on-one beating earned him a hollow DQ win, yet it turned out the strongman wasn’t as alone as he thought. After a few moments of butchery, Dean Ambrose returned and quite literally hot-dogged his way to the ring, utilizing a weaponized street vendor’s cart and all the goodies contained therein to administer a beating from which the corporate cabal could not, erm, ketchup. The party didn’t exactly cut the mustard for Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, though: The Authority drove perhaps the greatest wedge yet between the unsteady tandem by announcing a Cena vs. Ambrose contest for WWE Hell in a Cell, wherein the winner would get a coveted chance to face Seth Rollins himself inside the place where rivalries are settled forever. It was an announcement that neither Ambrose nor Cena seemed too happy about, though Ambrose certainly seemed to relish the double-arm DDT to the Cenation leader that kicked off their rivalry in earnest.

John Cena Vs Dean Ambrose (Winner faces Seth Rollins in a Hell In A Cell match)

As a common enemy of John Cena and Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins is a marked man, and he must face one of his adversaries inside a locked Hell in a Cell on Oct. 26.

But whether Mr. Money in the Bank’s opponent will be the Cenation leader or The Lunatic Fringe won’t be known until that night, when uneasy allies Cena and Ambrose will be first pit against each other in battle, with the winner advancing to a Hell in a Cell Match against Rollins!

The unique arrangement, brought into play by The Authority on the Oct. 6 edition of Raw, adds friction to Cena and Ambrose’s already tenuous alliance, which is built upon a mutual disdain of Rollins.

The unstable Ambrose is frothing at the mouth to get even with Rollins, who nearly put the unstable Superstar out of action for good with a ruthless Curb Stomp through cinderblocks. Cena, meanwhile, has been eager to get his hands on Rollins since Night of Champions, when The Architect arguably cost Cena his WWE World Heavyweight Championship rematch against Brock Lesnar. In recent weeks, Cena and Ambrose have come to each other’s aid as well as left one another high and dry, seemingly leaving both Superstars uncertain of each other’s motives.

The structure of determining Rollins’ Hell in a Cell opponent sets the table for a very intriguing night on Oct. 26 and begs numerous questions. Just how far will Cena and Ambrose go to secure their spot against Rollins? To what degree will their one-on-one conflict impair the winner when he claims his “prize” — a Hell in a Cell Match against the ever-dangerous and intelligent Rollins? Most important, perhaps: Will it be Ambrose or Cena who goes straight to “Hell” on Oct. 26?

To find out, don’t miss Hell in a Cell when it airs live on WWE Network and pay-per-view on Sunday, Oct. 26, at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT!

What will WWE be like in five years? WWE.COM editors offer their predictions

The landscape of WWE is always changing and it’s difficult to predict who will be WWE World Heavyweight Champion next week, let alone a year from now. However, a conversation during a meeting at WWE.com quickly turned into a heated debate over where WWE will be in five years.

A small group of WWE.com editors took on the challenge of predicting where John Cena, Dean Ambrose and more will be by the year 2019.  Who do we think will be champion? Where will WrestleMania be held? Check out our forecasts and let us know where YOU think WWE will be five years from now in the comments section.

John Cena will be Raw General manager

It may be difficult to fathom, but five years from now John Cena’s in-ring career will be winding down. By 2019, Cena will have surpassed Ric Flair to become the first 19-time World Champion in sports-entertainment history, and he’ll be ripe for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame. That’s not to say that the Cenation leader no longer grapples, but his competitive in-ring appearances will be reserved for his most bitter rivalries, and will only take place on The Grandest Stage of Them All — WrestleMania.

Nevertheless, Cena won’t be a “part-time” Superstar. He will still be on Raw nearly every week but rather than active competition, Cena will be Raw’s most successful and fair General Manager. He will keep WWE authority figures in check and make sure Raw remains the most action-packed show on television. Of course, the 19-time World Champion will have his enemies, but he’ll be the first to get physical if the situation arises. — KEVIN POWERS

The Authority interrupted John Cena's truce with Dean Ambrose

MILWAUKEE — On SmackDown, the desire of two Superstars to even the odds with Seth Rollins lead to a two-on-one onslaught of The Lunatic Fringe.

Just when it looked as if John Cena and Dean Ambrose were ready to shake hands and call a truce in their mutual desire to get retribution on Seth Rollins; Corporate Kane, Randy Orton and Rollins appeared on the TitanTron.

After pointing out some insulting things that the 15-time World Champion and WWE’s most unstable Superstar had supposedly said about each other in the past, Kane challenged them to prove their new peace accord against the combined force of him and The Viper in SmackDown’s main event.

John Cena & Dean Ambrose defeated Kane & Randy Orton by Disqualification

John Cena and Dean Ambrose remained obsessed with individually getting payback on Seth Rollins, but they turned their focus to battling Corporate Kane & Randy Orton in Smackdown's main event.

When Mr. Money in the Bank emerged in the height of the hard fought match, however, Cena abandoned his tag team partner and ignited a brawl with his foe that stretched all the way to the back.

The actions of the 15-time World Champion left the war-torn Ambrose to face the combined aggression of his opponents alone, and the fact that their double-team brought an end to the match by disqualification couldn’t have mattered less. After Kane hit the chokeslam on the unstable Superstar, WWE's Apex Predator finished him off with the RKO. By the time Cena returned to the ring, the damage had already been done.
